Wisdom

Indigenous women learn from our mothers, grandmothers, aunties and women in their circle. We want to share that wisdom of our history and culture.  We want women to use the strength of our histories to learn today.  Remind each other of the great and powerful women we are and the circle that has been already created for us by our grandmothers.  All of that is meant for us as Indigenous women.  We can live, share and be strong.

For the Journey to Wellness...

From the Founder…

Aanii, I am so glad to have you here at The Circle of Indigenous Women.

I love to work with Indigenous women all over the world.  I want to show the greatness that we have as women, share our stories of hope and determination.  Hear the voice of the strong and those who may feel weak.  I want to create a circle of women who want balance, well-being and learn from the women who came before us.  I want to use our cultural tools for learning and healing.  We all have it in us to do better, feel better and want the good things in life.  As Indigenous women we need to come together for strength and connection. We have to be supportive of each other no matter what journey we may choose.

I am Paula Naponse and Ojibway Anishnawbe kwe from Atikameksheng Anishinabek in Canada. I belong to the Ojibway nation and have lived on the reservation since I was born.  Although I did not grow up in a strong cultural traditional home, I have been on a learning journey of my family, community and people. I have listened to many elders and spiritual people and used those teachings with my children and for my own life.  I speak some Ojibway language but still there is so much to learn.

I have my Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Education and a candidate for my Masters of Education.  Getting a good education was important for me not only individually but for our nations. We live in two worlds as Indigenous. I want a journey where I can use the tools given in life to make living great!

Welcome and let’s learn together in The Circle….
